Police probe stabbingA man who was found lying in the street after being stabbed several times has refused to co-operate with Police.

The 33-year-old Hamilton parish victim was found by Police on Ewing Street in Pembroke near the Court Street junction early Thursday.

Police believe he was attacked by a group of men who then ran off. The victim was rushed to hospital for treatment of stab wounds to his stomach, right arm and back as well as injuries to his head.

The man indicated he knew his assailants and the assault stemmed from an earlier incident. However he would not co-operate with Police any further. And Police are hunting a mugger who slapped the glasses of the face of a 15-year-old CedarBridge student before running off with his mobile phone.

The victim, from St. George’s, was talking on his phone while walking up from the car park at the rear of Windsor Place in the City of Hamilton to the City Hall car park on Church Street when he was approached by an unknown man from behind.

The suspect attempted to engage the student in a conversation before slapping the victim’s face, grabbing the black Sony Ericsson phone and running off with two accomplices towards the City Hall car park. The main suspect is a dark skinned male, approximately 5ft 5ins, of muscular build, wearing a black hooded sweat top with the hood up.

He appeared to be around 18-years-old.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information about the two incidents to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295 0011. Thief steals jackhammers A thief stole two Makita jackhammers after breaking into a construction site.

Police say the offender gained entry into a storage room at the site in Long Bay Lane, Somerset, between 5.30 p.m. on Tuesday and 7 a.m. yesterday.

In another incident, between 3.30 p.m. on Monday and 11.20 a.m. on Tuesday, an intruder stole cash and tools from a garage in Camden North Road, Paget. Officers are investigating both break-ins.
