Snowballs to a tight 5-3 triumph over Team Xerox in Commercial League action

Valcourt produced another gem and based on the way Ron Skaggs pitched for Team Xerox, his performance could not have come at a better time.

Skaggs also had a stellar outing, but his team could not come up with timely hits.

Valcourt helped his own cause with three hits, while Braxton Stowe smashed a home run and drove in two runs to get the Snowball's rolling.

Hitting stars for Team Xerox were Cliff Ridley and Paul Johnson, who each had three hits in three at bats.

PALMS socked Gateway Herd 17-9 as James Pace, Jeff Richardson and Clarkie Trott sparkled at the plate. Pace was four-for-four with two homers and three RBI, Richardson also homered and added a triple and double to drive in three runs. Trott's triple helped send home two more runs.

Dennis Pamplin pitched effectively for PALMS, with Nigel Godfrey and Andy Cook each belting a pair of hits. Godfrey was the losing pitcher.

George Corday drove in four runs to lead Sousa's to a 10-7 victory over Rubbernecks, helping Alan DeSilva get the pitching win. Corday had four hits, including a double, while Herman DaPonte and Tony Faries were consistent with three hits apiece.

Ray Horn hit all the right notes when he was at bat (he had three hits) but was tagged with the loss as starting pitcher. Dwight Walker and Rob Swan each drove in a pair of runs.
