Trimingham's to open beauty salon
beauty business.
After long carrying quality beauty products, the company will open a beauty salon in April.
The beauty salon is one part of a diversification scheme the company has launched, which includes bringing its engraving business within the main store.
Company president, Mr. Eldon Trimingham said 5,500 square feet of additional floor space formerly occupied by Front Street shops Brittania and The Treasure Chest will be put to maximum usage.
"We will get twice the amount of window space -twice the frontage on Front Street,'' he said of the space which is next to the main store.
In the salon, men and women will be able to avail themselves of massages, facials, pedicures and manicures. Two treatment rooms are being established and other services such as leg waxing will also be offered.
Merchandising director Mrs. Donna Ferguson, said that there will also be an expansion of several areas.
"There will be a greater variety of gifts. We will expand the area for ladies' accessories and watches, expand the men's department, devote more space to ladies and teen fashions, as well as lingerie.
"The area for cosmetics will be increased and there, and in many other areas, we will go even further up market with our product lines.'' The company will use the additional space to move its engraving service, Engravables, from rented space on Reid Street, to the main department store, amalgamating the off-shoot firm into the enlarged gift department on Front Street.
