Young swimmer Julian Fletcher came within a whisker of his personal best in the 50 metres breaststroke when he competed at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune, India recently.

Fletcher recorded 31.12 seconds to place 10th in the event.

He also swam in the 50m butterfly (28.45 secs, 18th) 100m breaststroke (1:10.76, 13th), 100m freestyle (58.15, 25th), 200m breaststroke (2:41.49, 13th) and 50m freestyle (25.90, 23rd).

Also representing the Island was Rebecca Heyliger who competed in the 50m butterfly (32.19, 20th), 100m freestyle (1:04.49, 22nd) and 50m freestyle (28.80, 15th).
