Bermuda-based Aspen Insurance Holdings Litd. has promoted Simon Mason to the role of deputy head of marine & energy, international insurance, with immediate effect.

In connection with the promotion, Mr. Mason will take on greater management responsibilities, but will still continue to report to John Henderson, head of marine & energy, international insurance.

He joined Aspen in December 2004 and has 20 years of experience in the energy insurance sector.

He currently serves on the London market Joint Rig Committee, which is a representative forum for the London marine energy market, and previously has worked in the Lloyd's market.
