Dowling hits three for Eagles
A Darin Dowling hat-trick against Prospect United in a 4-1 win to stretch Somerset Eagles' unbeaten streak to five games at White Hill Field.
Eagles scored all their goals during a tumultuous first half with talisman Dowling leading the charge with a superb treble while Rodre (Piper) Wilson also got in on the scoring act on Sunday.
Dowling opened the scoring for the home side when he converted from the penalty spot.
The Eagles striker added a second goal when he finished with a shot that curled inside the far post before Wilson made it 3-0 when scrambled the ball across the line.
Dowling then completed his hat-trick when he headed home a Roger Lee rebound minutes before Prospect scored a consolation goal.
Elsewhere on Sunday, St. George's Colts edged Young Men's Social Club 1-0 at Bernard Park to go top of the standings while Paget Lions beat BAA 3-2 at White Hill Field to pick up their first points of the season.
