On Saturday, April 13 at 8 p.m. the Bermuda School of Music will present its annual chamber concert Some Enchanted Evening .

Each year the musical event, established in 1998, and sponsored by Partner Re, presents works featuring a variety of instruments, styles and composers. Performing these will be a number of the school's faculty, joined by a talented collected of local and visiting musicians.

For its fifth anniversary, Some Enchanted Evening will move out of the concert hall and out under the stars when it is presented on the tented grounds of Bacardi International on Pitt's Bay Road.

"This will be a very exciting evening of music, none of it has been performed before in Bermuda," said Dr. Karol Sue Reddington, who, in addition to being the pianist for the evening, is the concert producer.

"This intimate setting on the lawn at Bacardi, is perfect for chamber music. It's a wonderful atmosphere. But there are only 250 seats, so people will need to get their tickets early."

Cellist Paul deJong, who has appeared in previous concerts of the Bermuda School of Music and L'Alliance Francaise des Bermudes, is the guest artist.

Joining Mr. deJong will be artists Dr. Reddington (piano), Carol Everson (bass), Chas Arnold (violin), Sarah Danby (cello) and Jennifer Sheridan (violin), all of the school's faculty. Also performing are artists of the Menuhin Foundation; on violin, Ewing Lauder and Melanie O'Brien and on Viola, Ros Hanson and Kate Fraser.

Featured music is Antonin Dvorak's Piano Quartet in E-flat Major, Op 87, Giacomo Rossini's Duetto (cello and bass) and Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's Octet in E-flat Major, Op. 20.

Tickets are available at Meyer Travel, Opus Encore, Pianos Plus and the Bermuda School of Music. Patrons tickets are $40, adults $25 and students $10.
