Get set for crazy kids and their motorcycle stunts

Pint-sized versions of motorcycle stunt legend Evil Knevil will be enthralling the crowds at the Agricultural Show later this month.

The Honda Imps, from the UK, will be revving up their machines to perform a series of awe-inspiring stunts -- and some of the riders are as young as six.

The highly trained group has travelled the world putting on several successful performances. Four years ago they did a crossing of the Sahara for a fund raising exercise.

The Imps have 45 members and more than 30 are youngsters aged between six and 17.

Based in the east side of London, the club has been a refuge for academically challenged and underprivileged children for 30 years.

The volunteer leaders teach the youngsters road manners, precision and safe riding, C.P.R, how to attend to a road accident and teamwork. The leaders also enforce the three unbreakable rules that the youngsters have to abide by; they must attend school, have no involvement with the Police, and they must not become involved with drugs or solvents.

Imps leader, Roy Pratt, is a former military police officer and educational social worker.

He said the youngsters' need constructive and positive activity, coming from a depressed area of Britain.

Imps member Melissa Borghys, wrote a letter to Agriculture Exhibition organisers detailing her excitement about the trip.

She said: "I have been in the Imps for six years, since I was eight years old.

"Over the years with the team, I have ridden all of the different size bikes, 50cc to a 250cc, which I currently ride. I ride in the formation and have even jumped through fire.'' "Over the years, I have had a lot of good times but it has been hard work.

When you first see our show just think of the hours that we have spent to get to this standard.'' According to Melissa, she and her teammates were anxiously awaiting their visit to Bermuda and have been practising hard during the winter months.

They will arrive in Bermuda on April 8 and will perform at the Agricultural Exhibition on April 19th, 20th, and 21st.
