Drunk rider fell his off bike twice

A 36-year-old labourer was banned from driving for a year after falling off his motorbike drunk.

Lloyd Drummond, of Gatehouse Lane, Sandys, was arrested just after 10 p.m. on February 6 after he was seen to "deck out" and fall to the ground from his black Honda Scoopy on South Road in Warwick.

Crown counsel Larissa Burgess told Magistrates' Court yesterday that Drummond got up and tried to ride again and the same thing happened. He told Police: "I know that I'm drunk and I did fall off my bike."

He pleaded guilty to driving while impaired and was given a $1,000 fine and ten demerit points, in addition to the ban.
