GPS will be made optional for cabbies under a UBP govt.
Global Positioning Systems would become optional under a United Bermuda Party Government and students would have access to free public transportation.
The Island could also see an end of large cars on the roads as the UBP pledged to "reimplement tougher vehicle size restrictions for private cars ¿ including Ministerial cars."
The UBP also pledged in its manifesto to establish a Taxi Authority to increase consultation among government, taxi owners and drivers.
Its mandate will be to monitor dispatching, make recommendations on fare structures and surcharges and provide services such as health insurance and pensions.
The party also said it would place a moratorium on additional minibuses until the Taxi Authority was established and functioning and reduce duty on fuel for taxis.
They also pledged to install user friendly ticket machines on buses to remove the requirement for exact change and increase minibus services to reduce parking issues at ferry stops.
The Island would also see an increase in the number of frequency of buses during peak hours and an extension of services later in the evenings to reduce the number of drunk drivers.
