Top runners missing^.^.^.
Island's top distance runners.
Among the missing when entries closed last night were Tracy Wright, who has dominated the cross country series this season and marathoner Brett Forgesson, who is still recovering from an injury.
Wright had indicated to organisers that he would compete, but was also due to run in a half-marathon in the US yesterday, along with local traithlete Neil De Ste. Croix.
Errol Cormack, the former May 24 Marathon Derby and Bermuda Marathon winner, who has been making a slow but steady return to form following injury last year, stands out as one of the favourites for Sunday's race.
But he could be challenged by Colin Swan and four top Masters runners, Rod Allen, Harry Patchett, Mike Whalley and Peter Lever, who all enjoy the longer distances.
Among the women, Maria Conroy Haydon and Karen Adams are excpected to battle for first place.
Runners can pick up their numbers this evening at the Police Recreation Club (5.00 - 7.00 p.m.) when late entries will also be accepted.
The event gets underway from the square in St. George's at 9.30 a.m. and finishes at the Elbow Beach Hotel.
