Memorial service for Governor Langley tomorrow

A memorial service to the late Governor Sir Desmond Langley takes place tomorrow at 4 p.m. St. John's Church, Pembroke.

Everybody is welcome at the event, which will be attended by Sir Desmond's widow Lady Flick Langley.

Sir Desmond, who died peacefully at his home in England on February 14, was Bermuda's Governor and Commander-in-Chief between 1988 and 1992.

He is fondly remembered in Bermuda as a man who could mix with people from all backgrounds and had a great influence on the Regiment.

A funeral service was held in England in March.

A Government statement said yesterday: "All who wish to celebrate his life are invited to attend. Lady Flick Langley looks forward to a word with their friends and acquaintances immediately after the service."
