Reigning Commercial A champs Key West are hitting form at the right moment as they consolidated their lead over rivals Dandy Town Roots.
Goals from Key West in the first and last minutes proved enough to consign BAA to their first defeat in 2007 in a hard-fought contest on Saturday at BAA. Key West came flying out of the blocks as BAA failed to clear a free kick and Sergio Griffin pounced with a superb finish.
The goal spurred on Key West and they continued to dominate and only the woodwork and some superb goalkeeping from John Doran kept BAA in contention.
As the half wore on BAA began to get a foothold in the game and the last 15 minutes of the half belonged to BAA, but for all their possession they failed to create any clear-cut chances while Earl Richardson wrapped it up just before the final whistle.
Lobster Pot put the pinch on Dandy Town Root’s title aspirations with a 1-0 win at St. John’s field on Saturday. A couple of world-class saves from Pot keeper Brian Ward and old fashioned luck kept Pot in it before a late counter attack saw Taurianno Trott claim the only goal of the game with a fine finish as Pot recorded their first win in two months.

Poor defending allowed Onions to extend their lead after half an hour when a short corner was played to Chris Fleming who scored with a low driven shot that was deflected past the ‘keeper.
Rams pulled a goal back within a minute when Kevin Bailey blasted a free-kick from 25 yards out into the top corner.
Onions extended their lead midway through the second half when an excellent O’Dwyer pass set up Steve Woodward to lob the keeper with a mishit shot. Rams fought back strongly but were unable to turn possession into goals. O’Dwyer completed the scoring from the spot after Matt Savage was tripped in the area.
Relegation rivals Robin Hood fought out a 2-2 draw with Gary Ray and Alfred Wolffe on target for Hood and Carlos Lopes and Joe Carolo netting for Tuff Dogs.
Meanwhile the game between PHC and Island XI was abandoned in the first half after it got out of hand without an official referee present. The BFA has yet to decide whether to replay the game.
