BA seven-day service ending

British Airways ends its seven-day service between Bermuda and London this Sunday and reverts to a five-day a week schedule for the winter.

BA started its daily service in March, the first time the airline had run a seven-day service between the Island and the UK since the 1970s. It came after a concerted effort by former BA district manager in Bermuda Philip Troake and represented a near 50 percent jump in the number of seats available to passengers travelling to and from London Gatwick Airport.

During the winter months the airline intends to run a five-day service, an increase on last year’s four flights a week.

Marianne Wilcox, BA’s Bermuda customer service manager, said: “During the winter months, between October 29 and March 22, there will be five flights a week which represents an increase of 25 percent on the number of flights compared to last year. Those flights will operate every day except Monday and Friday.”

Flights from London Gatwick will depart at the earlier time of 2.45 p.m.
