Polish kayaker Aleksander (Olek) Doba has reached Port Canaveral in Florida.

The 67-year-old set out from Portugal on October 5 in his 21ft kayak but turned to Bermuda in February to repair a broken rudder.

He resumed his journey last month and is expected to reach his end goal — New Smyrna Beach — in a matter of days by rowing up the Intercoastal Waterway.
