Upcoming publications present bright future to today's students

The Royal Gazette has two exciting and informative Special Sections publishing this fall that coincide with important educational events and are sure to be of interest to Bermuda's students and their parents.

On October 20 our annual Careers Fair supplement will appear in The Royal Gazette as an accompanying guide to The Ace Foundation's Career 09 event to be held at the Bermuda College on October 22 and 23.

Career 09 is the ideal venue for those early and important career steps. More than 80 vendors and participants will be at the event providing students with valuable insight to various job opportunities available in Bermuda. There will also be a special performing arts presentations and the "Dress for Success" fashion show.

The Royal Gazette's accompanying supplement further explores the surprisingly diverse opportunities in Bermuda's economy through profiles of successful people in both business and the trades, highlighting their educational and professional paths as well as providing insight into the most common and rewarding parts of their jobs. The supplement will also give tips and advice on how to navigate the Fair and how to make the most of its networking opportunities.

This is a must-have publication for all young people and extra copies of Careers Fair will be printed and made available at the Careers 09.

Career 09 is part of the Foundation's Career Paths Initiative and is designed to work in partnership with existing career resources available to students including the Bermuda Careers Centre, the National Training Board, and the Ministry of Education, as well as the local and international business communities.

On November 26, The Royal Gazette will publish the first of our two-part series on College and University entry for this year's high school graduates.

Publishing as an accompanying guide the International College and University Fair this publication is designed to help each student get accepted into their school of choice.

Complete with an applications timetable, advice on scholarships and survival tips for that first year abroad, The International College and University supplement is an invaluable resource for parents and students alike.

Extra copies of the supplement will also be made available at the Fair which takes place on December 3 and 4 at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess.

The Royal Gazette will then publish a follow-up supplement in January 2010 that further assists students and parents to stay on track during the application and acceptance process.
