Leonard Dayle Raemon Butterfield of Hill Crescent, Pembroke was charged after Police searched his house in September.

The court heard from Crown counsel Cindy Clarke that on September 27 Police searched Butterfield's home with a warrant after receiving specific information about Butterfield.

Police asked Butterfield if he had any drugs in the house and Butterfield led officers to a closet in a bedroom where cannabis was hanging on a fishing line. Plant material was also found in various locations around the house including a second closet, containers, boxes, potted plants and four trees that were growing outside in the garden. The trees varied in height from four feet to seven feet and were all seized by Police.

A plastic pipe, silver and black metal grinder and two scissors were also seized.

All 13 plants that were seized were found to total 59.46 grams of cannabis. The equipment also tested positive for cannabis and cannabis resin.

Butterfield was represented by Victoria Pearman who requested a Social Inquiry Report. The sentencing will be delayed until after the report is finished on July 3. His bail was set by Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner at $10,000 with one surety.
