This weekend marked the second shooting in broad daylight reported so far this year.

On Good Friday, father of two Kimwande Walker was gunned down in front of his children outside Victor Scott Primary School.

And on May 23 last year a day time shooting on Court Street left three men injured.

The latest incident on Sound View Road marks a wave of gun crime to hit the West End — with three shooting incidents so far in July.

On July 7, there were multiple shots fired in White Hill with no reported injuries; and on July 1 there was an attempted shooting of three men by two men on a bike near Store Lane.

The last two murders have also happened in the West End, including the death of father-of-two Frederick Maybury who was gunned down as he left Woody's Sports Bar on Malabar Road.

And the shooting murder of 24-year-old Dekimo Martin who was killed at his home on Peacock Crescent on May 28.
