Wanderers take over top spot
leadership of the Meyer Agencies Commercial Division Group A on Saturday.
While Rangers were tumbling to a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Forties, Wanderers were edging Lobster Pot 2-1, with former Bermuda international Frank Brewster scoring the winner with a superb headed goal in the second half.
Up to that point the teams had battled to a standstill following first half strikes by BAA's Eric Jones and Tony Smith of Lobster Pot.
BAA now head the standings by a point over Robin Hood, who moved into second place, with Rangers next on eight points from six matches.
Forties destroyed Rangers at Malabar with two goals on either side of the interval, Andy Robinson and Jorg Wolf scoring in the first half and Roy Fellows and Brian Fubler completing the rout in the second.
Hood got past Exiles 3-2 with Simon Turner (two) and Mike Haromy on target while Raymond Durham netted twice in reply for the losers.
The most entertaining affair in Group B action was at Shelly Bay where Valley's Kevin Issac and Jeff Richardson of Devonshire Colts All-Stars put on individual displays of goal scoring, each netting hat-tricks.
Richardson shone early, notching three in the first half (10th, 17th and 23rd minutes) as the visitors led 3-1 at the break. Issac scored one in the 28th minute and as Valley stormed back, he hit two more after the interval to ensure a share of the spoils.
Other matches saw Prison Officers fall 2-1 to Park United, Fire Services beat St. George's All-stars 3-2 and KPMG blast Devonshire Lions 4-1.
In Alliance Division play Devonshire Cougars pummelled nine-man Prospect 8-0, while BAA and St. David's drew 2-2.
FRANK BREWSTER -- winning goal for BAA.
