Minnows begin their quest for cup glory
Valley FC v Pest Control
Valley will be looking to continue their goal scoring form when they play fellow Commercial B side Pest Control in the preliminary round of the FA Cup.
Valley defeated St. David's on the weekend 4-0 and will be looking to add to Pest Control's misery who lost to Devonshire Lions 5-2 on Saturday.
Pest Control shouldn't l not to concede as many goals as they did last year when they were handily beaten by Devonshire Colts 14-0, so anything less than that will be a plus.
Prediction: Valley FC 4-0
MR Onions v–Vasco Mariners
Reigning Commercial 'A' champions will be on cruise control this week as they play Vasco Mariners in what will the most lopsided encounter of the preliminary round this year as they seek to make amends for last year's first round exit to Young Men's Social Club.
Onions have a veteran side who have made numerous runs throughout the years deep into the FA Cup, and this match should give them a good stepping stone to start off from.
Mariners shouldn't expect to get anything from this match but fitness and fun.
Prediction: MR Onions 6-0
Tuff Dogs v –Key West Rangers
Tuff Dogs will be looking to shake off their league defeat from the weekend, going down to Commercial leaders Robin Hood 1-0, as they set off on what they hope is a lengthy FA Cup run.
With key players possibly missing the match, it will be up to back four to keep things tight at the back if they are to stay competitive in this match.
Coach Jason Floyd will hoping that his strikers show up to the match as they have scored 11 goals in five games, something that has kept them off the relegation pace thus far in their season.
Tied on points in the standing with Dogs, Key West will be looking to get early goals to settle themselves down as they have only managed to find the back of the net five times while conceding nine.
Rangers lost to eventual champions PHC last term in the last eight after being replacing Somerset, who fielded an ineligible play in their fixture and will be looking for that same sort of run this time around.
But everyone knows that records go out the window when cup competitions take place, so they could very well get the job done and move onto to the next round.
After Beating Dandy Town Roots 2-1 in their last match, they should be coming into the match in good nick.
Prediction: Dogs 2-0
Robin Hood v –St. George's All Stars
In a battle of Commercial leaders, Robin Hood, leaders of the 'A' division, square off against group one leaders St. George's All-Stars in what many would say is likely to be a lopsided match.
Hood are joint top of the table with MR Onions but have a superior goal difference, and will be looking to win this match with the minimal fuss.
St. George's will be looking to shrug off the underdog tag and beat Hood after their 3-0 victory over Somerset Bridge, albeit without kicking a ball.
The 'A' division leaders, however, should make it four out of four for the 'A' division side to advance to the next round.
Prediction: Robin Hood 5-0
