Under-23s face US Pan-Am team
finishing touches to their preparation for today's first match in the quadrangular tournament involving three other teams from the United States and Germany.
Today sees Bermuda take on the US Pan-Am/Olympic team at 4 p.m. (Bermuda time) at an as yet undisclosed venue in Orlando.
Other matches follow on Wednesday against a US Under-21 team and on Friday when they match skills against Bayer Leverkusen of Germany.
Yesterday's bad weather caused the postponement of all but one game in the Coca Cola First Division, while just two were completed in the Daihatsu Second Division.
St. George's Colts defeated league leaders Dandy Town 2-0 to move into third place, while Somerset Eagles pounded Hamilton Parish 12-0 and St. David's drew 1-1 with Prospect in the lower division.
However, at Frog Lane, a few members of home team Devonshire Colts expressed anger after the game was called off by referee Esten Curtis.
"We could have played the game, there's nothing wrong with the pitch. This is football weather,'' said team member Ray Jones, noting that there were no puddles on the field and the only major difficulty might have been for the goalkeepers in their ability to handle the ball cleanly.
"We would have liked to have had PHC out here today. This was a time for us to get revenge for when they hammered us when we had all those players missing with the Under-23 squad,'' added Jones.
PHC would have been missing key players Shawn Simons, Dano Outerbridge, Ottis Steede and Raynel Lightbourne, all away with the Under-23 squad in Florida.
Back on October 15 it was Colts who were missing numerous players -- on tour with the Under-23s in Germany -- when they lost 4-3 to the Zebras.
