Under the scheme, several hotels and stores give 20 percent discounts for every day the temperature fails to reach 68 degrees.
The storm blew up following different readings over the top temperature last Friday.
The Tourism Department informed the hotels the temperature was 68. But Saturday's Royal Gazette printed a reading of 65, which it was given by the US Naval Air Station.
The confusion led to many visitors feeling they were deprived of discounts.
A Tourism Ministry spokesman said yesterday hotels were encouraged to use their discretion and offer discounts to any guest who complained.

"I lost it,'' Burke later told Police. "I had too much to drink. I'm sorry.'' COLLEGE FUN DAY `THE MAIN EVENT' EDC College fun day `the main event' Bermuda College will hold a Fun Day for all families at its Stonington campus on Sunday to mark the end of Education Month.
College spokeswoman Mrs. Jan Doidge said in addition to showing that education is fun for all the family, the free day -- called the Main Event -- will hopefully unite families and the community.
Activities planned include the showing of part five of the black history series "Beyond the Dream'', a cross-country race, a six-aside ladies soccer competition, and various art shows and exhibitions.
Mrs. Louise Jackson will give the history of the gombeys and the H & N gombey group will perform as will the Bermuda Regiment and Bermuda Isles Pipe Bands.
The Fun Day will be opened at noon on Sunday by Education Minister the Hon.
Gerald Simons. Activities culminate at 4.30 p.m.
AIR ARRIVALS UP TOU Airport arrivals for the week ending February 21 increased by 18.5 percent.
A total of 4,145 visitors came to the Island -- 647 more than in the same period last year.
For the year so far, visitor arrivals via air were up by five percent compared to the same period last year or up by 919 people to 19,314 visitors.
