Pot and Dogs book berth in Commercial final

Lobster Pot are chasing a cup double after coming from behind to secure their place in the Commercial Cup final with a last-gasp winner against title-chasing MR Onions.

Pot, who will face Tuff Dogs who knocked out BAA, are up against Dandy Town in the FA Cup on Sunday.

The fast-improving restaurant team started brightly in their Commercial Cup clash at BAA on Tuesday night and within 15 minutes had the lead when Edwin Odede poked in from a corner.

The goal seemed to wake up Onions and the game started getting more physical. Onions finally used their height advantage and at the 30-minute mark were level when Nigel Forrester jumped to power home a corner.

Ten minutes later a nice through ball sent Colin Keane racing in to hammer home a low shot at the near post.

Pot, up against their bogey team, upped their physical presence in a second half which saw Onions defender John Tindall sent to hospital with a broken wrist after he fell awkwardly.

Ten minutes from time a Stephen Palmer free kick found sub Joey Azman who squared it to Shahaib Mehran for a clinical finish. In the dying minutes another Palmer free kick found Mark James who nodded home to book Pot's berth in the final.

Tuff Dogs continued their recent run of good form to reach the final with a hard fought victory over BAA, also on Tuesday night.

BAA started the better of the two teams but struggled to create any clear-cut chances.

Martin Jones was creating havoc on the Wanderers' right but BAA failed to convert their superiority into goals and the score at half-time was 0-0.

Dogs stepped up a gear in the second half and had the better of possession but neither team looked like breaking the deadlock.

The turning point came when, with 20 minutes to go, Sean Hill was controversially sent off for allegedly swearing at the lineswoman.

Dogs pounced as BAA were trying to reorganise and took the lead with a good finish from Jamal Lovell.

The Greens threw caution to the wind in a bid to get back on level terms. With five minutes to go they came agonisingly close when, after great play by Dave Gibbs on the right wing, Ross Young steered the ball inches wide.

With BAA pushing forward, Tuff Dogs added a second in the last minute with a swift counter attack resulting in Lovintz Tota rounding the keeper and coolly slotting home to leave the final score 2-0

In league action at the weekend, Robin Hood stumbled in their bid to catch up leaders MR Onions by dropping a point against Lobster Pot in a 2-2 draw.

Improving Pot were good value for their 2-0 lead at half-time courtesy of close range Joe Azman effort and a Tom Cusack penalty.

However, they were lucky not to concede a penalty after a clumsy challenge by the keeper on a Hood forward.

After the break, Hood clawed their way back courtesy from some slack defending close to the goal-line, allowing David Outerbridge to score from close range while Hood's Alfred Wolffe gobbled up a punched clearance to grab a point.
