Michael Douglas 'getting better'
Former Bermuda resident and Hollywood actor Michael Douglas is said to be "getting better" and "improving" after being diagnosed with throat cancer in August.
Mr Douglas, 65, was found with a tumour in his throat and had to undergo eight weeks of radiation and chemotherapy.
Best known for his roles in movies like 'Wall Street' and 'Fatal Attraction', he is the son of Bermudian actress Diana Dill and actor Kirk Douglas.
He lived on the Island until last year with his wife, actress Catherine Zeta Jones, and their children Dylan, ten, and Carys, seven. According to Mr Douglas' publicist Allen Burry: "He is doing fine. He is getting better and is not in treatment. He is in recovery and is in New York.
"He is improving. It is a slow process, you do not get over something like that overnight but he just keeps improving."
This summer support poured in for the Academy Award-winning actor former Premier Ewart Brown was one of those who wished him a full and speedy recovery.
A 'Get Well Soon' book for Mr Douglas was also placed in the Cabinet building for residents to sign.
