Stabbed teen ?doing well?

The sister of a teenager who was stabbed at the weekend said yesterday that he was "doing rather well" in hospital and should be home by the weekend.

The boy was attacked at a neighbour's home in Pembroke on Saturday evening between 11.30 p.m. and midnight and Police are still hunting for his assailant.

A Police spokesman revealed yesterday that the student was attacked after he saw someone stealing parts from his motorcycle.

He said the boy was stabbed in the side of his abdomen, almost puncturing one of his kidneys.

He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital in a taxi. The 16-year-old's sister, who asked not to be identified, said: "He is doing rather well. He was the victim of this. He wasn't the person that started it. Hopefully, he'll be home before the week is out."

The Police spokesman added: "This guy is a victim, that is clear."

The alleged assailant is described as aged 17, slim, between five feet, five inches and five feet, seven inches tall, with a dark brown complexion. Anyone with information is asked to contact Police on 295-0011.
