A 24-year-old man has become the first road fatality of 2009.

James Smith, of Somerset, was killed after his motorcycle hit a parked car on Scott’s Hill Road, Sandys, just after 2 a.m. this morning. He was pronounced dead at 2.43 a.m.

Police say details of the crash are still sketchy and they are appealing for witnesses. Call them on 295-0011.
