Brown through to final

Adam Evershed in today's 36-hole championship flight final of the Bermuda Junior Golf Association Match Play tournament at Riddell's Bay.

Yesterday's semi-finals saw Evershed of Sudbury, Ontario, defeat Matthew Hocking five and four while Brown got past England's Andrew Trott two and one.

In other matches today, Richard Fulton will play B.J.Payne in the first flight final, Nigel Swain will meet Jeremy Drover in the second flight final, and Arron James will take on Chris Smith in the white tees championship final.

Today's prizegiving will get underway in the Riddell's Bay clubhouse at approximately 4.00 p.m.

Robert Spurling rose to the occasion this week at the annual Doral Public Junior Golf Championships at the renowned Doral Country Club in Miami.

Spurling finished 13th out of 103 competitors in the 15 to 17 age group, with scores of 75 and 79 in the two-round event.

Another Bermudian, Quinton Sherlock ,started out with a 79, but found the windy conditions in the second round too difficult to handle and finished near the back of the pack.

Robert Hooper of Coral Springs, Florida, with rounds of 70 and 69, won the tournament with a five under par total of 139.

Spurling, meanwhile, remained in Florida where he was expected to take part in the Orange Bowl at the Coral Gables Golf and Country Club.

Father-and-son combo Ian and Richard Fulton won the senior/junior event at Mid Ocean Golf Club this week, leading the way with a six-under-par 65.
