Cuts' Fubler slapped with eight-match ban

Cricket bad boys Willow Cuts have lost another player to suspension following their three-wicket win over Somerset Cricket Club two weeks' ago.

Sheroy Fubler has been handed an eight-match ban and placed on probation for a year after he launched a foul-mouthed tirade at opposing player Dwight Basden during a bad-tempered affair which also saw two other players get into trouble.

Basden was slapped with a four-match ban for his part in the incident, while fellow Somerset opening batsman Jermaine Warner got into an altercation with a fan following his run out during the game at Somerset Cricket Club and has been banned for two matches.

According to one witness, no-one is entirely sure what prompted Fubler's rant, but "it turned the air blue, and left stunned players from both sides looking on in amazement".

Fubler is the third Cuts player to have been banned this year, after team-mates Malachi Jones and Chris Douglas were punished for playing for their club side despite being under national team orders not to do so.

And Cuts as a club were severely reprimanded over the same incident, with many feeling they should have been deducted points for allowing Jones and Douglas to play when they knew they were not supposed to do so.
