Sara's sitting pretty
Bermuda's Sara Lane Wright is in silver medal position in the Laser sailing regatta at the Central American and Caribbean Games.
The regatta is taking place in Mexico away from the event's main base in El Salvador, writes Matt Westcott.
The Islander began with an eighth place finish but then turned on the style with finishes of second, third and fourth.
Those results gave her 17 points, two clear of joint third place rivals Sarah Swan of the Virgin Islands and Maria Reyes of Venezuela who have 19.
Tania Calles of Mexico leads the way after netting three firsts and a third for six total points.
Meanwhile, Brett Wright is in tenth place in the men's Laser class.
Wright has had finishes of fourth, two eighths, 17th and 13th so far and has a total of 50 points.
Bermuda's squash doubles pairing of Nick Kyme and James Stout fought hard but lost out at the Central American and Caribbean Games yesterday.
The duo went down 2-1 to Colombian number one and two players Bernardo Samper and Santiago Montoya at the event in El Salvador.
It is the second time during the tournament that Kyme has been beaten by Samper, his room-mate at Trinity College in Connecticut. Bermuda's number one player was denied a bronze medal in the singles event when he lost out 3-0.
Bermuda's representatives of Kyme, Stout and Mel Caines still have the team event to go.
