Accenture set to buy into Internet marketing solutions

MONTREAL (Bloomberg) - Accenture Ltd., the world's second-largest management-consulting company, is buying two businesses to help clients improve results from Internet marketing.

Accenture agreed to purchase closely held Maxamine Inc. and last month bought Memetrics Holdings Pty Ltd., according to a statement yesterday. Both companies are based in California. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed. The Maxamine sale should be completed within 30 days, Accenture said.

The companies will become part of Accenture's Marketing Sciences division, which has more than 400 clients globally, including advertisers. Accenture last month posted record quarterly earnings after winning more contracts by developing software and systems for governments and companies.

Accenture, based in Hamilton, Bermuda, dropped 44 cents, or 1.3 percent, to $32.86 in New York Stock Exchange composite trading. The shares fell 9.2 percent in the 12 months before yesterday.
