Palm specialists from Florida were on the Island yesterday to help carry out a survey on the Island's trees.
Two scientists from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, travelled across the Island to assess the health of palms and give advice on how to deal with problems.
They met with the Department of Environmental Protection Plant, which investigates problems in local plant populations.
Their visit included a public lecture on palms at Horticulture Hall in the Botanical Gardens.
Anybody with information about palms that are in a state of decline should call the Plant Protection Laboratory on 239-2322.
