Tamisha Darrell and Ebonie Burgess both scored twice to fire Lady Cougars to FA Cup glory at the National Sports Centre yesterday.

Cougars eventually ran out comfortable winners, but not before Dandy Stars had given them a fright.

With the Cougars leading 3-1 at half-time, the game looked all but over. But Stars fought back and it wasn't until Darrell grabbed her second two minutes from time that Cougars could relax.

"It was well deserved victory," said Arkeita Smith, the Cougars captain.

"It was a bit hot out on the pitch, but we worked hard early on and put our chances away, so there was no coming back for them at 3-1.

"In the end we defended well as a team, and we were able to pull out the victory in the end.

"We have won three trophies this year, but no league title so this was a good way to end the season.

"The game began at a frantic pace, with both sides scoring inside the first five minutes.

Darrell gave the Cougars the lead from the penalty spot, and could then only watch as the Stars went up the other end and promptly equalised through Jessica Furtado.

Furtado picked up the ball from the left and fired it past Sharifa Crockwell in the Cougars goal.

Having squandered the lead once, Cougars weren't about to make the same mistake again, and two goals from Burgess appeared to have settled the game before half time.

The sides went into the break with no further scoring in the half and it wasn't until Furtado scored her second of the match in the 80th minute to pull Dandy Stars to within a goal of Lady Cougars, that it seemed Stars might be able to get something from the match.

But two minutes from time a goalkeeping mistake from a free kick handed Darrell her second, and finally put the match beyond the St. John's side.
