What does it take to be a good musician? Hard work!
"What makes a good musician? Oh, that's easy!" many people would chant.
Many people do not know the work that is necessary or the meaning of music itself; they may think: 'Oh, write a few notes and play the thing'.
But it takes so much more than that to a good musician.
To be a good musician you have to first have a feel for music — you know, a kind of interest in music. Secondly, you pick an instrument you would most likely enjoy playing.
Go online and find out more about the instrument, learn every part of it, become one.
Now that you have the information, become familiar with the object. Learn the notes, how to play them and what sounds the notes make.
Once you have learned about the notes, treble clef, base clef, and time signature, you should start out by playing lower level songs, such as 'Mary had a Little Lamb'. As you work on the songs you will take sometime until you get the tunes right and work your way to becoming a good musician.
With all of the information you have learned that would simply not be good enough to pass you by; good musicians have to be dedicated. Without dedication, they can easily get frustrated and can fall behind on their practice just because they did not make time for it. They need to have self-confidence in order to go far.
Outstanding musicians are not going to be hiding behind the curtains, but are going to get out there and flaunt what talent they do have and with that have grace and proper posture.
There is nothing worse than going on stage and looking like sloppy seconds; real musicians do their best at whatever they do.
Hey! That's what I think it takes to be a good musician.
