Celebrating Customs Day
International Customs Day was marked across the world yesterday.
Customs authorities across the globe celebrated the day, recognising the role of customs officials and agencies in maintaining border security.
This year, customs authorities intend to enhance the communication and information sharing practices under the theme of “Communication: Sharing Information for Better Cooperation.”
In Bermuda, a church service began the celebrations with more events planned throughout the week, including two open houses tomorrow, from 10am to 4pm, at number six cruise ship terminal, Front Street, where a series of displays and demonstrations will give the public an opportunity to interact with customs officers and ask any questions.
A road race will also be held on Wednesday with the celebrations culminating in a staff appreciation gala on Friday.
