Court House opens new studio

Court House Squash & Wellness has expanded its range of services with the opening of a new personal trainer studio this month. The gym and squash centre’s latest addition Sessions is just across from the original site in the basement of Victoria Place and manager Sue Pell said it will cater to small groups of three to 10 people. The new studio, which was officially launched on June 6 and will be run by the club’s four personal trainers, also comes fully kitted out with state-of-the-art and specialised TRX, circuit, swiss ball and core strength training equipment as well as a kinesis free flowing cable system which can be used for tennis and golf swings and to help with injuries. There is also a private room for postural and body assessments, lifestyle management and weight loss management coaching, fitness screenings and health assessments, in addition to assesments of sports injuries.Ms Pell said that demand for personal training had driven the need for a new studio and when the space became available after Pampered moved out of the space in February it was the perfect opportunity to expand. She said that the new studio will complement the other facilities that the Court House has available, with holistic programmes also on offer to help people achieve their goals, particularly in light of the growing issue of obesity and diabetes that has become all to prevalent in Bermuda.“There is not one size fits all in achieving overall wellness, so we feel we have go to offer a number of different options because everybody’s lifestyle and fitness is different,” she said.“We are trying to creat a menu of options that people can pick and choose from to suit their needs.”Ms Pell said that business had been good since the club opened in early 2009, despite the increased number of people leaving the Island over the past year.“Obviously we have had a number of people leaving the Island but at the other end we have new members joining with people arriving and those from other gyms,” she said.In the future, Ms Pell said that Court House plans to offer corporate wellness programmes working with employees on a small and large group basis. The studio is also open to non-members and an online booking service at www.courthouse.bmFor more information contact Sue Pell on 292-0700 or email spell[AT]courthouse.bm
