Women leave for Florida

The Bermuda women's national team leave for Tampa, Florida today where they will play four matches as part of a ten-day tour, writes Stephen Wright.

They will take on the University of Tampa women's team, Clearwater Chargers Under-18s, Fusion Under-18s and the Strictly Soccer Under-18s.

Head coach Jeremy Saleem hopes Bermuda will at least be competitive against all four teams who he expects to be technically strong.

"The Florida area produces some of the best US teams so we expect them to be technical strong and organised," he said.

"But we should not have a difficulty competing in the matches and that's what we're after – we want to compete."

The women's national team return to the Island on Sunday, August 22.
