Island is profiled in UIP report
Bermuda's international business sector will be showcased in a report by the United International Press on behalf of the New York Post.
The report, which is being put together by research UIP is currently doing on the Island, will highlight Bermuda's recent successes, current challenges, most up-to-date projects and testimonials on leaders in order to capitalise on its potential and strengthen its image as an top financial destinatio
The UIP team is working extensively throughout Latin America and the Caribbean; most recently having produced a report in The Bahamas.During its time in Bermuda, the team continues to meet with leaders of the government, private sector organisations, as well leading companies; from sectors that have traditionally been successful to those that are up-and-coming.
The team recognises the importance of being on the Island during the current global financial crisis and reckons that Bermuda has a firm-footing as an off-shore financial hub, however it believes the country needs to and is trying to diversify and develop other sectors, particularly tourism and telecommunications
"These sentiments are continually echoed by leaders of companies and organisations we have had the pleasure to meet including the Bermuda Monetary Authority, BIBA (Bermuda International Business Association), ABIC (Association of Bermuda International Companies), the Chamber of Commerce, and leaders of the government among others," said project director Brian Michitti.
"With the recent economic developments throughout the world our New York readers and investors are seeking to discover what opportunities are ready and available for them to explore in Bermuda."
"We are not looking for fortune tellers, but we are looking for the strongest messages to convey to our readers of the true potential of the Bermudian economy."
