The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index remained the same for its first day of trading in 2009.

The Index held firm at 3,417, with 1,040 shares worth $9,143 traded.

The only traders were Butterfield Bank (540 shares) and Stevdoring Services Ltd. (500), but their share price remained unchanged at $10.45 and $7 respectively.

The BSX Insurance Index also stayed unchanged at 885.83.
