BSX tumbles 2%

West Hamilton Holdings took the biggest hit of the week on The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX).

The developer of one of Hamilton latest building projects at Belvedere Place tumbled 24.52 percent ($3.25) to $10, with 12,997 shares traded on Friday.

The utilities sector also suffered as Belco Holdings Ltd., slid 50 cents (3.12 percent) to $15.50 and KeyTech Ltd. dropped 45 cents (4.3 percent) to $10, with 7,252 and 1,521 shares changing hands respectively.

Other decliners included Butterfield Bank, which closed down 25 cents (2.28 percent) to $10.70, as 364,241 shares were transacted, while BF&M Ltd. saw 35 cents (2.07 percent) knocked off its share value to end the week at $16.50, with 8,090 shares traded.

But there was some positive news as Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd. inched up 45 cents (7.56 percent) to $6.40, as 2,550 shares changed hands.

Argus Group Holdings Ltd. (3,502 shares) and Devonshire Industries Ltd. (140) also had a busy week's trading, but their share price remained unchanged.

Overall the Index dropped 73.79 points (2.15 percent) to 3,421.44, with 400,183 shares worth $4.4 million traded.
