Insurance companies drop

The insurance sector was hardest hit on The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday.
Argus Group Holdings Ltd. fell 75 cents (5.08 percent) to $14, with 1,100 shares traded, while BF&M Ltd. declined 50 cents (2.5 percent) to $19.50, as 6,000 shares changed hands.
KeyTech Ltd. also dropped 15 cents (1.09 percent) to $13.50, with 2,200 shares transacted, as did Butterfield Bank, falling five cents (0.31 percent) to $15.90. The bank traded 2,023 shares during the day.
Overall the Index was down 47.93 points (1.01 percent) at 4,719.59, with a total of 11,323 shares worth $194,268 traded.
The BSX Insurance Index, meanwhile, was up 23.72 points (2.65 percent) at 918.57.
