Web guru who helped in Mass. Senate race here on vacation
The web guru credited with helping Republican Scott Brown win the Massachusetts Senate race this week is taking some down time in Bermuda,
Rob Willington, 31, managed Mr. Brown's online campaign, which is being praised for helping the Republican win a seat in what has historically been seen as a Democratic stronghold.
Mr. Willington worked hard to establish a large presence on Facebook and Twitter and spurred on supporters through online ads and text messages.
According to The Hill, a congressional newspaper that publishes daily when US Congress is in session, every time Mr. Brown's opponent Martha Coakley did a radio interview, Mr. Willington sent a text message to supporters with the phone number for the radio station, urging voters to call in and ask questions.
The Hill wrote: "He helped develop an application for iPhones and BlackBerrys that sent lists of names and addresses directly to volunteers in the field. Using the cell phones' GPS features, the lists automatically updated for every neighbourhood across the state."
Since Mr. Brown won the election Mr. Willington has been in demand, but chose to take a vacation to Bermuda first to relax. It is not known where he is staying on the Island.
