Bermuda's national cricket team bounced back after a humiliating 50-overs game defeat to Argentina on Wednesday to inflict a crushing 54-run loss on the South Americans in a Twenty/20 contest yesterday, according to an unconfirmed report.

With new addition to the squad, the hard-hitting Glenn Blakeney smashing 53, Bermuda compiled 153 for two in their 20 overs before restricting the Argentinians to 99 for seven to complete a comfortable victory.

A day earlier, World Division Three team Argentina had beaten Bermuda for the first time, winning by 43 runs.

But yesterday it proved a much different story.

After winning the toss, the visitors quickly took command against the hosts' bowling attack, Blakeney firing on all cylinders.

He was assisted by Fiqre Crockwell who thumped 48.

Skipper Irving Romaine contributed an unbeaten 20 and Regina Smith finished not out on 18.

Blakeney was the first wicket to fall with Bermuda having already put 96 runs on the scoreboard.

In reply, Bermuda's bowlers quickly put the Argentina bats under pressure, taking wickets at regular intervals.

No details were available last night regarding Bermuda's bowling figures.

Opener Hamish Barton was the hosts' top scorer with 30 while Esteban MacDermott contributed an unbeaten 29.
