Motorcyclist still in intensive care
A 28-year-old woman was last night critically ill in intensive care after she came off her bike.
Police say the Pembroke woman was leaving Hamilton and heading east on Crow Lane when she lost control at the junction with Corkscrew Hill at about 3.30 p.m. on Saturday.
She was taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital with serious head and internal injuries and last night her condition was described as critical but stable in the intensive care unit.
Anyone with any information about this collision is asked to contact PC Carol Skerritt on 295-0011.
In a separate accident a man suffered a severely injured leg when he lost control of his bike and collided with a wall on South Road, in Paget, near the junction of Point Finger Road, at approximately 2.55 a.m. on Sunday.
According to Police traffic had to be diverted from the scene for two hours after the victim was taken to KEMH. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 295-0011.
A third traffic accident over the weekend involved a bus and a car at the junction of Middle Road and Tee Street, in Devonshire.
According to Police at around 11.30 a.m. on Saturday an 80-year-old Southampton woman, travelling north in her car on Tee Street, collided with a bus driven by a 52-year-old man as they both approached the busy junction.
As a result of the collision the woman was taken to KEMH after complaining of back pain. Her injuries are not considered to be serious however and are likely a result of muscle strain.
Neither the bus driver or the passengers were injured although the car was extensively damaged and the bus did receive front end damage.
