Damon Ming scored twice as Bermuda Hogges pulled off a stunning win over Crystal Palace USA in Baltimore last night.

The Hogges looked like a completely different side to the one that had been beaten so convincingly by Palace on Sunday.

It helped that they scored first, and they certainly benefitted from a Palace side that missed a hatful of second half chances, but in truth they were the better team for much of the game and fully deserved the three points.

Switching Kevin Richards to the centre of defence also helped, he brought some much needed organisation to the back four, and with Omar Shakir adding some cover in a five-man midfield the Hogges had a better shape than in previous weeks.

Jared Peniston put Bermuda in front with less than ten minutes gone, controlling a fine ball from Sammy DeGraff, he took a touch and slammed the ball past Brain Rowland, the Palace goalkeeper from just inside the area.

Things got even better for the Hogges moments later when Ming doubled his sides lead, benefitting from a mix-up in the Palace defence to take the ball past Rowland and calmly roll the ball into the net.

Palace got back into the game straight away, with Larry Mark scoring his third goal in two games against the Hogges, but that was as good as it got for the home side.

Three minutes after the break and the Hogges moved further ahead, with Ming swapping passes with DeGraff and then racing clear to score his second.

While Bermuda made the most of their chances in front of goal, Palace had one of those days when nothing seemed to go right, especially for striker Gary Brooks.
