Thousands complete End-to-End Walk
Thousands of participants took part in the physical challenge event on Saturday which raised money for various charities.
Over 2,500 showed up to walk, run, row, swim and ride from one end of the Island to the other in the Catlin End-to-End charity even.
Participants started in from St. George's at 8 a.m. for a 24.1 mile hike while others started in Hamilton for a 14.7 mile journey.
Charitable Trust board member, Stephen Davidson said: "Everything went really well and the weather was ideal."
Although the entire amount of funds raised for various charities had not been tallied at the time of print, Mr. Davidson said they were right on track with last years total.
"We still usually would receive pledges for another week or so. With the gloomy economic climate we still have had a good amount of money raised," he said.
Participants entered the event as groups and individuals, RenaissanceRe, one of the top contributors, had 40 or more participants who took part.
Mr. Davidson: "First Atlantic Commerce also had a big turn out. And they all rode in superhero costumes.
"It is events like these that makes Bermuda one big neighbourhood."
He added: "There were a few bikers who rode end to end and one participant rode end to end then did the swim that was something."
The charity trek concluded in Dockyard with local entertainment, Mohawk Radio, Chewstick and Sabor Dance school performances.
There were also massages and free food, which saw a few thousand people partaking in the festivities.
"Every year we get more and more people who come to Dockyard for the festivities," he said.
Mr. Davidson said of the day that he was glad it was a success and that everyone was an upbeat participant.
