Coddington full of confidence
Bermuda Hogges striker Domico Coddington believes his goalscoring form has everything to do with confidence, something he had been lacking in previous seasons.
Coddington headed home his fourth goal of the campaign in Friday's win over Real Maryland Monarchs at the National Sports Centre to give Hogges a deserved one-nil victory.
The diminutive marksman doesn't usually score many with his head and said he was pleased to be adding another dimension to his game.
"Confidence is the difference between me from last year to this year," he said.
"The last week in training I was working on headers and putting them away since we were doing crossing and finishing.
"Since the first header I scored early in the season they seemed to have been going in now so that is always a good thing.
"It seems as though it's a natural thing now."
Coddington expects Hogges to build on their promising start to the season as they prepare to for next month's double-header in the US against Wilmington Hammerheads and Charlotte Eagles.
He believes they need to keep on playing with the same determination and desire to win as they showed against Monarchs.
"It was a hard fought match," continued Coddington.
"We worked hard from the start although early in the first half was frustrating because we weren't creating the opportunities we wanted to.
"They were very compact early and were shutting us down but as the half wore on we started to open them up a bit more with our passing and movement.
"We come out for three points every night, whether it is home or away.
"We slipped up last week at home but as you see from tonight we have got the three points and are moving on from here."
