Man robbed
A man was jumped from behind by robbers who attacked him and stole his wallet over the weekend.
The incident unfolded on Richmond Road at around 2 a.m on Sunday. A Police spokesman said: "The victim, a 45-year-old Pembroke man, was walking from the Robin Hood pub and restaurant when three unknown men attacked him from behind and forced him on to the nearby AIG property. The suspects then made good their escape with the victim's wallet containing a quantity of cash and personal items."
The victim sustained facial injuries but declined an offer of medical attention. The suspects are described as three young black males. Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
Bike on fire
Police and fire fighters were called to tackle a motorcycle that was found ablaze on Front Street in Hamilton early on Sunday.
The report came in around 4.35 a.m and the fire was put out by attending Police officers.
According to a spokesman, the motorcycle sustained extensive damage to its seat, sides and rear tyre. Another motorcycle parked nearby also received damage to its right side due to the blaze.
Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service personnel also attended the scene and ensured the fire was extinguished.
Home burgled, car is taken
Burglars raided a home before stealing food and making off with the car in the early hours of Monday.
Police were alerted to the incident at a residence in Clarke's Lane, Pembroke, around 3.20 a.m.
A spokesman said: "The complainants stated that sometime between 1 a.m. and 3.15 a.m. that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into their home. The culprit stole a quantity of jewelry, food items and the complainants' car, a white Suzuki Ignis license #39711. Inquiries into this incident are underway."
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the car should call the Police on 295-0011.
Police detain five motorists
Police detained five people on suspicion of driving drunk over the weekend. Two road collisions left people injured, with another five crashes causing damage to the vehicles only.
The statistics were released yesterday as part of a regular weekly round-up of incidents on Bermuda's roads.
