Children are being invited to sit on juries to select the winning films in this year's BIFF Kids Film Festival.

The festival will take place on October 17-19 and the film line-up will be announced early in October.

Aideen Ratteray Pryse, director of BIFF Kids, said: "We invite children ages six to 12 who are interested in sitting on our juries to write to us, telling us in 100 to 250 words why they liked a particular film that they have seen anytime in the last two years. "We will read all the entries, and will select the winners based on the film reviews that have been sent to us.

"We will announce the winners, and the two, three-person juries will watch the films for free during the festival in October, and select the winning film in both the feature and short film categories."

Entries must be received by Friday, October 3. Entries should be sent to BIFF, PO Box HM 2963, Hamilton HM MX. Entries may be typed or handwritten neatly.

Entries may also be submitted by e-mail to info@biff.bm. Prospective jurors are reminded to include their age and contact information with their entries.

Tickets for BIFF Kids will go on sale on Friday, October 3 online at www.bdatix.bm.

Tickets will also be on sale at Transact, Internet Lane, Reid Street, Hamilton weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. and at Picture Perfect, Heron Bay Plaza, Southampton, Monday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
