Fathers, mentors invited to Berkeley's male bonding day
Male bonding will be on the agenda at an event taking place at the Berkeley Institute on April 2.
The secondary school is asking fathers and other guardians or mentors to spend some quality time with their young charges.
The day will involve a classroom visit in the morning, followed by lunch and a talk by a guest speaker, then a soccer, volleyball or basketball game in the afternoon.
Kali Douglas, head of S1, said the idea was to get everybody "joining hands" to help the school's young males strive for success.
"Male to male communication is crucial in the home and in school. Our boys need support in all aspects of their lives, especially school."
Those interested in taking part should contact Mrs. Douglas or Donavin Durrant on 292-4752 or email kadouglas@berkeley.bm or ddurrent@berkeley.bm.
