OCC II maintained their lead in the Bermuda Snooker League First Division when they dominated WSC in a 5-1 victory.
Joe Roberts of OCC was the only loser for the leaders when he dropped the first match to Lawrence DeSilva on the black ball. Roberts overcame a 20-point deficit only to lose when he applied too much power to the cue ball, causing both it and the black ball to drop.
But his team-mates remained undaunted as Steve Pantry defeated Greg Falzone 53-41, Mike Wood overcame Timmy Simons 64-17 and Kyle Thompson beat Tony DeSilva 44-20.
OCC also won both doubles matches. This gives them a three point lead over Queens Club I who suffered a setback when they lost 4-2 to OCC I. Queens and OCC had been level on points att he beginning of play.
The other First Division match saw Warwick Workmen's Club beat Police Club 5-1.
In the Second Division, Queens Club II maintained a hefty eight point lead over WSC II, who have a game in hand.
Queens defeated St. Geroge's Dinghy and Sports Club I 4-2 while WSC II crunched OCC V 5-1. Nationals defeated St. George's Dinghy and Sports Club II 4-2 and OCC III bumped OCC IV 4-2.
All teams are reminded that the Turkey Shoot will be held today and all breaks should be recorded in order to determine the winner of a turkey in each division.
Meanwhile, play in the quarter-final round of the Gosling Cup saw Queens Club I defeat WWC 3-0, St. George's Dinghy and Sports Club I beat OCC IV 3-0, WSC II defeat OCC II 3-1 and OCC I get by OCC V 3-0.
The semi-final round will be played on Wednesday, January 15, commencing at 8 p.m. at the Old Colony Club. Action will see St. George's Dinghy I playing WSC II and Queens Club I taking on OCC I. Winners will advance to the final in February.
All playes are reminded that entry forms for the Bermuda Open singles and doubles competition are available from the Old Colony Club. They must be returned to the committee by January 29.
Clubs are also reminded that the December 15 deadline for table repairs is fast approaching. Authorisation forms should be returned to Bobby Miller or Paul Charleton at the Old Colony Club as soon as possible.
